Abstract: ISTQB® certifications has now produced more than 50,000 ISTQB® Certified Testers in Germany, with more than 500,000 ISTQB® Certified Testers worldwide (as of March 2017).

The German Testing Board (www.german-testing-board.info), a federation of industry experts, training providers and members from Universities for the testing of software and systems, has launched few years ago initiatives to provide new developed curricula for industry specialists.

One of these specialists - CTFL®- Automotive Software Tester - has been specially designed for the automotive industry and is intended to meet the specific requirements of testing software-based systems in this area.

The goal of the certified training is to provide a basic understanding of the special features testing of ECU software in the automobile. Testers should be able to derive sound test strategies, select standard test techniques and carry out tests that are relevant to the safety classification of the control unit and also withstand an audit. The new CTFL Specialist curriculum Automotive Software Tester includes the following aspects:

Consideration of ISO 26262 and its implications for the test, taking into account different ASIL levels, requirements for the test from the perspective of Automotive SPICE, e.g. with respect to traceability.

In addition, different test environments are discussed (e.g. HIL, SIL, MIL) as well as the integration of the test activities into the product development process (PEP) in the automotive sector.

The goal of the keynote is to to demonstrate how such a standardized training for Certified Automotive Software testers has been systematically developed with the participation of representatives of the 1 Tier suppliers, OEMs, seminar providers and exam bodies for the automotive industry since 2015.
